Students decide which subjects they intend to pass at 'A' Level. In making this choice students are well advised to take into account the wishes of their employer, or the requirements of the career they intend to follow, or the entry qualifications of the university or professional institute that they wish to enter. The following subjects are available from the College. Certain subjects are more relevant than others in making a particular choice and the College has arranged the subjects to give students the benefit of their experience. University of London: Recommended for a business career: Accounting Economics Government and Political Studies Law Recommended for a career in science: Mathematics - Pure and Mechanics Chemistry* Physics* Recommended for social studies: English Literature** History - English and European University of Cambridge: Recommended for a business career: Accounting Economics Management of Business Law Economic and Public Affairs Recommended for a career in science: Mathematics (Syllabus C) Chemistry* Geography* Recommended for social studies: English Literature** Shona Sociology History: English and European Divinity. * Practical work is compulsory ** In English Literature, the study of certain set books is prescribed. The College provides a pack of the set books for which an extra fee is charged. The examinations are held in June and November at secondary schools and certain other centres throughout Zimbabwe. External candidates are accepted at the discretion of the Headmaster and enquiries should be made at the school or centre at least eight months before the examination.
